One of the services that we provide is in-depth specialist assessment of employees who have been going through specific difficulties at work. These assessments could be requested as part of an employer seeking an Independent Medical Assessment from Occupational Health, for example to gain to a deeper psychological understanding of an employee’s difficulties.
Following an assessment with one of our clinicians, a report will be prepared either in the form of a doctor-to-doctor letter sent to the employee’s Occupational Health physician, or directly to HR depending on the referral pathway. This report can then be used to contribute to the continued co-ordination of that employee’s care.
The process for these specialist assessments is that we will offer the employee an appointment within 7 days of us receiving all of the relevant information. We would usually offer two, hour-long appointments one week apart, and then provide our report 7 to 10 days after the completion of the assessment. This period of time allows for the employee to view and comment on the report.
