Individuals

We offer a rapid-access psychological therapy service to individuals who are experiencing significant areas of concern or distress within their lives.  We aim to create a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space in which you feel enabled to express your difficulties and work collaboratively with your therapist to find solutions.

A wide range of psychological difficulties can be dealt with, including:

  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Phobias
  • Depression
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Relationship issues
  • Employment-related issues
  • Bereavement
  • Anger management
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • Adjustment to difficult life events
  • Child and family problems

One of our clinical psychologists will meet with you in the first instance in order to discuss your current difficulties and how you may be best supported in addressing them. This assessment, lasting 1-2 sessions, may lead to therapy, counselling or advice.

Clinical psychology aims to reduce psychological distress and to enhance and promote psychological well-being.  Our clinical psychologists are trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy and systemic therapy, and can thus draw on a number of perspectives in helping you understand and work through your difficulties.
