Therapy: Transactional Analysis (TA)
Transactional analysis is a form of modern psychology that closely examines a person's relationships and interactions.
TA therapy is very versatile and it incorporates key themes from humanistic, integrative and psychoanalytical and psychodynamic therapies.
The sessions are designed to explore your personality and how this has been shaped by your experience - particularly those stemming from childhood.
The underlying assumption behind transactional analysis is a fundamental belief that each individual possesses three ego states. These ego states—the Parent, the Adult, and the Child represent an individual’s internal model of parents, adults, and children.
The goal of transactional analysis is help the individual in therapy gain and maintain autonomy by strengthening your Adult state. This may involve taking personal responsibility for events that take place during treatment. Therapeutic process will seek to identify and examine various thoughts, behaviours, and emotions which might hinder your ability to thrive. The therapy will seek to explore what has gone awry in your communication and provide opportunities for you to change repetitive patterns that no longer serve you or limit your potential.
